Do you think you got skills on the grill?! 850 ESPN Cleveland, Circle K, Lehman’s, and Bud Light are giving fans the chance to once again show off those skills in a cooking competition against ESPN Cleveland’s Emmett Golden in October!
Fans can enter to be selected as 1 of 5 participants in the Cook Off by uploading a photo of their best grilled dish through the entry form below. The entry period starts on Monday, August 28th and ends on Friday, September 22nd. ESPN Cleveland will select the 5 best entries to compete on the patio of our new studio in the East Bank of The Flats on October 5th where participants will grill steaks and create a unique side dish using Lawsons Chip Dip.
During the competition, all participants will be required to grill bone-in, ribeye steaks. The steaks, along with Lawsons Chip Dip, steak preparation tables, serving platters and serving utensils will be provided. Everything else will need to be brought by each participant from home, which includes the grills. Grills MUST be charcoal or wood-pellet. No other style grills will be allowed. Please Note: Participants will have the option to create their side dish at home or at the cook off.
Judges will determine who has the best steak and who has the best side dish through a blind taste test. The best steak will win $500 and a Circle K/Bud Light prize pack that includes a trophy! The best side dish will win a TBD prize valued at $100 and will have an extra point added to their steak score! If Emmett wins the best steak, he wins the trophy and the next highest scorng contestant will win the money and the rest of the prize pack. If Emmett wins the best side dish, he will get the extra steak score point and the next highest scoring contestant will win the TBD prize.
Registration to win a Qualifying Prize of (1) entry into the cook off ends on Friday, September 22, 2023, at 11:59 PM ET. Qualifying Prize winners must be 21 years of age or older, reside in Ohio, and cannot be a registered cook/chef competing in BBQ competitions. Qualifying Prize is non-transferrable. Qualifying Prize winners must complete all affidavits and liability waivers after the competition is complete. Qualifying Prize winners must abide by all health and safety protocols as designated by the event.
