Everyone has a phobia, that fear that makes your palms sweat. Your brain is telling you it’s no big deal. That it’s irrational. But here you are, with those sweaty palms and panic in your eyes.
For 1,800-plus people in Northeast Ohio waiting for a life-saving organ transplant, their fear is real. Their fear is that the organ they need to survive will never arrive. It’s not excessive or irrational. It’s reality.
But it’s an irrational fear that causes people to avoid registering as organ, eye and tissue donors. A phobia that creates the real fear being experienced by those waiting.
Fearless is an event designed to conquer fear and raise awareness of the need for organ, eye and tissue donation in our area.
