When I looked up the definition of a "glue guy" I found two iterations:
a) "a sports team player, particularly in basketball, who is essential to the team's success through their positive attitude, high character, and willingness to do the "little things" that don't always show up in traditional statistics. These players prioritize the team's success over personal glory, boost team morale, communicate effectively, and perform important "dirty work" like setting screens, playing tough defense, and hustling for loose balls, effectively holding the team together."
